After distribution, we were chatting about our veggies at my house. My roommate wanted to know if there were any good ways to use our radishes besides in a salad. I have roasted up a serious amount of daikon radishes (the white japanese variety) but i hadn’t done much more than toss the red ones into a green salad, pickle them, or snack on them raw with a dash of sea salt or spritz of lemon juice. So, we put the word out and we got some good non-salad ideas from our members:

• Grate & use like a horseradish
• Bake into chips; Baked Radish Chips
• Use the whole bunch; Sauté quartered radishes with salt, pepper, butter, and olive oil for 8-10 minutes. When the radishes have reached the crisp-tender point, add the radish greens and heat until greens wilt. Can use a variety of greens – mustard greens, watercress, kale, etc. – in place of, or in addition to, the radish greens. Sauteed Radishes w/ Radish Greens
• Works great as a side; Romano Risotto w/ Radishes
• As an app; Slice radishes very thinly, salt them, and then eat them on buttered bread as an appetizer.
• Pickled!; Quick pickled radishes
• Roast; Roasted radishes w/ Soy Sauce and Toasted Sesame Seeds
• Red Radish Stri Fry; Laal Mulyachi (Partun) Bhaaji
• Great as a garnish; Steak w/ Radish Salsa & Fish Tacos w/ Mango-Radish Salsa and a Pink Chipotle
